Real Piano Version Changes

In the past two years, our iPad customers received more frequent updates and features than iPhone customers due to some restrictions. With Real Piano 4.0 update, we finally updated the whole Real Piano family on iOS to the latest greatest design and technology.

However we changed the names of all those apps to better reflect their positions. We are sorry if this created confusion to existing customers and we are trying to explain the upgrade paths here.

Please remember we will never remove any feature from existing customers to force you pay to upgrade.

Why is my Real Piano PRO changed to Real Piano™ Classic after 4.0 update?

I see a new app called Real Piano™ now. What’s the difference from Real Piano™ Classic?

It’s still the same app. We are adjusting the app names of Real Piano family during the 4.0 update. The former Real Piano PRO has been renamed to Real Piano Classic starting from v4.0.

Why does Real Piano™ Classic prompt me to upgrade to the full version? Is the Classic a downgrade from the PRO version?

It’s definitely not a downgrade. Real Piano™ Classic v4.0 has much better design and sound quality than its predecessor Real Piano PRO v2.1.4, as well as some new features. However, it doesn’t support remote control. That’s why there is an upgrade information in the Connect settings screen.

The full version refers to Real Piano™, which was an iPad-only version called Real Piano HD Pro, now is a universal app. Compared with Real Piano™ Classic, the full version Real Piano™ not only runs on iPad natively, it also supports recording on iPad, and remote control support on both iPhone and iPad.

Real Piano™ is new to iPhone but it’s not a new app. It was an iPad-only version called Real Piano HD Pro, which has a new keyboard design, better sound quality, and recording support since v3.0 in early 2013. During the v4.0 update, we are bringing it to iPhone by making it a universal app, and renamed it to Real Piano™. However, recording is still not support on iPhone yet.

Real Piano™ Classic (formerly Real Piano PRO) now jumped from v2.1.4 directly to v4.0 and is equipped with the same new keyboard and settings UI design, great sound quality, audio effects support, enhanced tuning and transposition, Game Center support as the universal Real Piano™ 4.0 when running on iPhone, except the remote control capability.

I have Real Piano HD Pro on my iPad. Do I need to pay to get the new Real Piano on my iPhone?

No. Real Piano HD Pro is now called Real Piano™, which is a universal app running on both iPhone and iPad natively. If you own Real Piano HD Pro before, now you can install the latest Real Piano™ 4.0 on your iPhone with no additional charge.

How can I upgrade from Real Piano PRO to the latest Real Piano™ 4.0?

Unfortunately, Real Piano PRO (or Real Piano™ Classic) and the universal Real Piano™ are two different apps on the App Store. So far, Apple doesn’t allow upgrading between apps, so if you want to use Real Piano on iPad or with the Remote app, you need to purchase the universal Real Piano™ separately.
